Dear Amelia,

Remember when I told you that Sadie went on an undercover mission to her cousin’s pack? Well, she did come in contact with someone from Colton’s former pack with the same strange magic she found in Jordan.

That wasn’t all. The team Devyn had following Colton followed him to a cave outside the pack Sadie was visiting. Carl was in charge of the team, and he reported feeling the presence of another briefly before it disappeared. And then they were attacked.

I thought that it was Katrina trying to make contact with Colton, which we didn’t need. I told Devyn to have them come back, we had to think about our next move carefully. But then Alex called. He said they were also attacked, and Sadie was badly injured.

I jumped to them and did my best to stop the bleeding. And then I jumped her and Alex back to the Black Forest hospital. Her injuries were severe, Amelia. I didn’t know if she would make it, but I was determined. Dr. Mendoza wasn’t sure if surgery would be enough to save her, but we weren’t going to give up. I helped out during the surgery, which took 16 hours. And we were able to stabilize her, but she was in a coma.

Amelia, this is a side note but still important for the next part of this story. When Jordan and Devyn were fighting after the challenge and Stella sent them to Willow Lake, we both felt a couple of new auras in the tribe. They were definitely new, but they didn’t feel hostile or dangerous. They felt innocent and familiar. We sent Farrah to investigate and it turned out that they belonged to Tristan and Grace.

They were too young for their wolves to wake, but their magic was alive. Gaia told me before that Tristan was able to dream walk, and he did heal me after I gave birth to him, but Stella sealed his power. Even so, he was powerful, and the fact that he could dream walk with his powers sealed, I guess it made sense that his power started seeping out. And Grace was the daughter of the High Priestess and granddaughter of a Goddess. So I shouldn’t have been so surprised.

Side note over- after the surgery, I went home to check on Tristan. He sensed my fatigue, and when he hugged me, he healed me. Except, he told me Hades healed me. Hades, his wolf. Yes, Amelia, I’m telling you your brother wasn’t lying when he told you that his wolf came when he was six. Actually, he was born with Hades already awake, he just didn’t know he was awake until he was six.

It was a full moon that night, so after Tristan went to sleep, I snuck out to go on a run. Grace scared me as I was sneaking out. She was on her way to sleep next to Tristan as she did every night. After tucking her in, she asked if I was going to come back, and I told her no. I had to go back and help heal Sadie.

Grace told me that Tristan could help Sadie. She said that he always helped her when she wasn’t feeling good. I felt bad having to explain that Sadie’s condition was a bit more complicated. It was hard trying to explain gently to a six year-old that Sadie was in a coma, so I just told her she was in a very deep sleep.

Trust me, Amelia, I did not want to tell her. But you do know Stella is her mom, right? Grace could probably tell if I was lying. And if I did, who knows what type of mischief she and Tristan would get into in order to find out the truth. I was just glad she didn’t ask more questions.

Dear Amelia, This isn’t the beginning of our story, but it is the start. As I’ve said before, Devyn was the only person who didn’t bully me growing up. He was my first friend- though our friendship kind of ended by the time we were old enough to start school. Anyway, while I was wallowing…

Dear Amelia, Devyn has always been a constant presence in Tristan’s life. Your brother looked up to him a lot. Probably more than he looked up to Jordan. He knew Devyn wasn’t his father, but, thinking about it now, listened to him like he was. He always wanted to spend time with Devyn and loved…

Dear Amelia, I didn’t mean to leave you on a cliff hanger. But as you know, Tristan’s birthday was coming up, and although he hates it, we had to have the ball. And that required a lot of planning and attention from me. So, I’m sorry it took so long to send this letter. I’ll…

Dear Diary, Today is my 18th birthday. I made the mistake of having hope. And thinking that my wish would come true. I should have known better than to have such unrealistic dreams. I didn’t find a mate. I guess that was better than having one and then feeling the pain of getting rejected. Still,…

Dear Amelia, This might be the hardest part to recount because I don’t remember it happening. Devyn, Jordan and everyone there told me what happened. So please take this with a grain of salt as I explain what happened to the best of my understanding. I blacked out. The anger, the rage, the fury and…
