Dear Amelia,

The next time I saw Devyn, we talked about us. It was a conversation we avoided for far too long. Questions about how we were going to make our relationship work. There was no question on whether or not we loved each other, or if we were a good match. The question was more of how we were going to make it work with all of our individual responsibilities. He was an alpha, and I was a queen. And of course, there was the question of if he found a second chance mate.

Its funny now that I think about it. I was the queen. I was very confident and sure of myself (for the most part), but talking about his potential second chance mate made me feel so small, shy and insecure. I was vulnerable. I was scared. But we needed to talk about it.

He told me he would rather die than to choose someone else. Well, those weren’t his exact words, but close enough. He said he’d choose me and Tristan, even if a second rejection killed him.

When it came to the question about our responsibilities, for him his pack and me my tribe – I had Tristan who could easily take over the tribe when he got older, Devyn had no heir- he said he had options. Lee and her mate are were both alphas, and Lee was his cousin, so he trusted her with his pack. And then he also considered Tristan. He said Tristan could run the pack for a while before taking on official royal duties. Kind of like preparing to run the whole supernatural world by first learning to run a single pack.

Obviously, Amelia, I was touched by his response. He really loved me and I could tell he meant every word. He thought about this a lot. He had answers to all of the questions I was afraid to ask. All of the things I avoided to think about, he already thought through. And look at us now, we made it work. I give him full credit for it.

Before we could go deeper into our conversation, Jordan linked me and told me he had new information. We all met in my office. For the first time in my life, I saw Stella angry, and she was being mean to Farrah of all people. I didn’t know why, and it seemed like Farrah didn’t know why either. That was until I read the paper Stella translated out loud.

I’m not sure if I told you the significance of this paper yet, so let me go back a little. It was a torn journal entry from the witch, Claudia. She was the one who connected us with Karina before the war. She was also the one who was Vasilia’s right hand. And according to David, she was on our side, though she was also working with Ryan and Katrina at that particular time. Our team found the torn entry after finding one of their hideouts, and Stella was asked to translate it from the ancient language it was written in.

The entry said that Claudia found Farrah’s spell book. It also mentioned a spell, but as I said before, it was torn, and incomplete. We didn’t know exactly what the spell was that she was referring to. Nevertheless, Stella thought that it was a spell that could kill me. That’s why she was so pissed. And Farrah’s reaction didn’t help prove her wrong. But I learned from my own mistakes not to jump to conclusion. Farrah was there, so I asked her directly.

Farrah said that the spell book should have never been found. She also confirmed that the book contained a spell that could reverse immortality. At the time she was creating it- which was over 200 years ago, well more like 350 now- she was working for both Markus and Darius.

Amelia, before we judge and accuse Farrah of being a traitor or a terrible person, we have to remember that she is a dark witch. All of her actions were in line with that. And this book was written over 200 years before I was ever born. A lot can happen and people change. And Farrah changed. After meeting Josie, she changed for the better. And she does everything she can to right her wrongs. She’s never given me a reason not to trust her. Well, not since I found out who she was.

Anyway, the spell wasn’t meant for me. It was created to kill Markus and Darius. But she couldn’t finish it. It was just too dangerous. So she hid the book to make sure no one else would try to finish it.

The spells from the book were actually created by her mother. Word spread that her family was going to kill the kings, so her whole bloodline was eliminated. Farrah survived because no one knew she existed. There were no records of her birth anywhere and her mother placed a spell on her to protect her.

The spell activated on her 100th birthday, and it showed Farrah her entire family history. It included the truth behind her family’s demise and spells they created. Her mother had created most of them, and they were strong, dangerous spells not once documented anywhere. And Farrah made the mistake of writing them down.

After hearing Farrah’s side of the story, I decided to trust her. She answered all my questions honestly, and I believed her. So we devised a plan to attack Claudia, Katrina and Ryan at the same time. We just couldn’t risk Colton teaming up with them, or completing the spell.

Before we left for the attack, I needed to talk to my grandpa. As it turned out, he knew Katrina very well. He dated her, and he wanted her dead. Actually, he swore to kill her before finding out that she was the one who betrayed us, was working with Ryan and planned the attacked on Tristan and Grace. He was already actively looking for her, but after learning everything else, he was even more determined to kill her.

Dear Ezra, I’m sorry. I know that isn’t enough to make you forgive me, and I don’t expect you to. Truthfully, I expect you to hate me. For as long as I could remember, you were the most logical one. Out of all your siblings, no one thought through things the way you did. Because…

Dear Amelia, The months following the council meeting were quiet. There were no more hostile take overs. The council was getting better at communicating with me as well. With things finally calming down, I finally had time to think about everything. I thought about the last nine years and how much has changed. And then…
