Dear Amelia,

When you were born, my world changed. My life and view on life changed. And I knew Devyn’s did too. You refused to be born until Sadie and Stella were ready. You ended up being the second one born, right after Julian. Your dad wanted to name you after himself. He didn’t care if we had a son or daughter, he wanted a Devyn Jr.

Listen, I know I said I would do anything for him, and give him anything he wanted, but that was the only exception. Do you know how happy it made your father when you named your daughter after him? You wonder why he spoils her so much? You gave her his name, something I didn’t give you, or him. But I’m glad you did. It made me so happy seeing how happy and proud it made him.

Devyn and I talked about names before you were born. And Just like with Tristan, I didn’t settle on a name until I saw you. When I saw you, I knew you were Amelia. Amelia Devyn Black. Your father was happy with it.

Side note- one of the generals who we fought, I think my mom ended up killing her, was also named Amelia. I didn’t remember that when I named you. And if I’m being honest, none of us did. But he name fits you so perfectly, and we love it. So don’t feel some type of way about it.

The night you were born, after you were sound asleep in the nursery, I dreamt about James. He told me to be happy with Devyn. And that he was happy I chose Devyn to be by my side. I told Devyn about it, and he told me he had a similar dream. It felt like James was giving us his blessing to be together. I was finally able to move on and let go of the guilt I carried with me.

Devyn’s birthday was a month after you were born, and it was the first one I had an active role in planning. The years prior, I’d get him a gift, take him out to dinner, and then just hang out. We did that every year since the first war. He never wanted a party. Apparently not since what happened when we were teenagers.

But Sadie was in his life now. And Sadie had the last say. She planned a party, and I distracted him. You could only imagine how surprised he was. If so many people were not around, he’d have definitely cried. He was always so macho around everyone, as an alpha should be, but I could see straight through him. As I’m sure you can too. Plus, you softened him up more than I did.

After his birthday, we had my Luna ceremony. I have always been a part of Black Forest. But since becoming Queen and formally establishing the tribe, I went from a regular pack member to an honorary member. My bond with the pack wasn’t as strong as before. And after the ceremony, it became whole again. It was amazing, feeling how the bond changed when my status changed from honorary member to full member again. I missed it.

I won’t lie, I was nervous. I was afraid I wouldn’t do a good job at being Luna, and that I’d let the pack down. Believe it or not, Jordan was the one who got me through it all.

If you’re wondering about the wedding, let me explain.

We met Florence to plan the wedding, then I got pregnant with you. We postponed the wedding because of that. At first, I wanted to push the date up to have it before I started showing. But that changed too fast with everything else. So we decided to push it back until after I gave birth. And then we postponed it again.

The month after you were born was busy. Between my Luna ceremony, Devyn’s birthday, Jordan’s birthday, and the meeting with the council, I needed time. Florence suggested a summer wedding, but summer was busy. With the Tristan and Grace going on summer break, and literally everyone else’s birthdays, including mine, I didn’t think it’d be a good idea. So I chose a date in early December.

We chose to have a small, intimate wedding in Bali. And Florence proved why she was the best in Europe- now the world.

Dear Amelia, It took me a while to write this, because this is where things become hard. So much happened so fast and I just don’t know how to slow it down. I won’t give you all the details. You are old enough to fill in the blanks of what I left out. Truthfully, though,…

Dear Diary, My dad invited his whole family to my graduation, and no one showed. I can’t say I’m surprised, though. I tried to tell him that it was pointless inviting them, since they hate me, but he refused to believe me. Even when no one showed. My second graduation was just the same. The…

Dear Diary, I don’t know if this is some sick joke or if the world isn’t as gray as I thought it was. But something is off. Yesterday, my parents dropped me off at the airport where I met the most handsome man the Goddess ever created. His skin was so smooth and unflawed. His…

Dear Amelia, I blame myself. Macey didn’t know what happiness felt like. She only experienced all my bad moments. And although she resented Tristan for looking like James, all she wanted to do was protect him. From what I read in her journal, Tristan was the only innocent person in her eyes. She didn’t want…

Dear Amelia, I know you want to know what happened, and I swore I would tell you one day. The thing is, I didn’t expect you to find my diary, or even read it. There are things in there that I haven’t even told your brother. And I know you’re most curious about your father…

Dear Amelia, Gaia and I went on our run and ended up under the weeping willow. The same willow I used to visit as my safe place when I first learned how to jump. It was the spot that I felt the most comfortable. We didn’t build out there, because that spot was sacred to…
