Dear Amelia,
I didn’t mean to leave you on a cliff hanger. But as you know, Tristan’s birthday was coming up, and although he hates it, we had to have the ball. And that required a lot of planning and attention from me. So, I’m sorry it took so long to send this letter. I’ll get right to it then.
Sadie was in a coma for about a week and there were no changes. Stella even tried to help heal her. It didn’t work. We kept trying until something happened. Sadie started to convulse and seize. At the same time, Alex said he could no longer feel the mate bond.
He said he didn’t feel it break, but he couldn’t feel it at all. We let the doctors work. Sadie didn’t need magic, she needed medication. Then Gaia was going to try to reach Sadie’s wolf, Savannah. Before she could, Sadie stopped seizing and flatlined.
We did everything, but nothing worked. Magic didn’t work. Science and medicine didn’t work. She was gone. And I knew everyone felt the bond break.
Right after Dr. Mendoza left to tell Alex, Sadie sat up with a gasp, and then shifted. I linked Devyn to bring Alex as me, Stella and the nurses stared in awe.
Amelia, back then, hybrids only had one dominant side. Sadie’s dominant side was magic. Although she had a wolf, she couldn’t shift because her witch side was dominant. That’s how it worked.
I was a special case because I was the prophecy and the queen. All other hybrids had only one dominant side. Seeing Sadie shift into her wolf was something no one ever expected. She was the first hybrid, aside from me, who had full access to both her gene pool. It was the start of something new.
Alex came back and we gave them some space. Before I left though, Sadie shifted back and asked me to give her thanks to Grace and Tristan. She said they saved her.
According to Gaia, he dream walked and brought Grace with him to Sadie’s mind. The only way I could know for sure, though, was to ask them. And the best way to get answers from six-year-olds, was bribery. So I took them out for ice cream.
Before I could even bring up anything to them, Grace asked if Sadie woke up. When I told her yes, she proceeded to tell me how she and Tristan went into Sadie’s coma dream to help her find her bond with Savannah.
That’s when Tristan told me for the first time about his ability to dream walk. Of course, I already knew about it, but this was the first time he told me himself. He told me he went into her dream a total of five times. They were in her mind every time Stella and I were trying to heal her. They led Sadie and Savannah to each other. They found their bond and told Sadie to restore it so she could wake up.
I was so proud of them. And I was so grateful that Hades was there to help them along the way and keep them safe.
After we finished with the ice cream, I took them to see Sadie. She wanted me to pass along her thanks, but I thought it would be better if she said it in person. Plus, they wanted to see her.
When we got there, Tristan dropped another bombshell on us. Hades told him that Sadie was a witch-wolf-vampire hybrid.
Victoria’s words finally made sense.
