Dear Amelia,

Your father survived, obviously since you’re here. I assumed Sadie made it to him just in time. As soon as I felt the pressure around my neck release, her storm and illusions on the battlefield were gone. I searched for the bond, it was still there, but just barely.

Devyn was nearly dead, and I wanted to go to him. I wanted to heal him and hold him in my arms, but I couldn’t leave. I had to protect Willow Lake and kill Flynn. I had to finish things first. That was my obligation as the Queen. All I could do was pray that Devyn could hold on long enough for me to end Flynn and then I could go to him.

Flynn wasn’t easy to kill. It felt like the fight wasn’t going to end and I needed to get to Devyn. But then felt the bond getting stronger and I knew Devyn was okay. Still, my need for revenge for Devyn getting hurt in the first place, fueled me. I fought, jumping from tree to tree, and then I spotted Ares. They came for me, but I wouldn’t make the same mistake of taking my eyes off Flynn again. So I linked them and told them to help the tribe and not to worry about me.

I spotted Sadie too. She came back with Alex and Devyn. She was fighting, but she was new to her vampire abilities, and she was using too much energy. She needed blood. I don’t know how I did it… Actually I do. Gaia and I are one, but we are also two. And like in the war against Markus and Darius, Gaia was fighting Flynn, while I used telekinesis to stop Sadie from free falling. Then I linked Devyn and told him to give her blood.

I kept an eye on everyone while Gaia focused on Flynn. Flynn saw Devyn, and although I tried to warn Devyn, Flynn attacked him. Well, Ares. Flynn picked him up and flew him high into the sky, and I jumped onto his back. Flynn wanted me to see my mate die, so he let go and Ares was free falling.

I concentrated, jumped to him, and then jumped to the lake before we made impact on the ground. We survived, but I lost my sword, and that was the only way I could kill Flynn.

I had depleted all my energy, and I needed to feed. That’s exactly what I did. I found my sword and fed on some of the enemies to replenish my strength before jumping back to Flynn. He could heal using water, just like me, so I had to get him away from it. I jumped on his back, and then jumped to the middle of the Sahara. I knew that there was a chance I could die too, but in my mind, at least everyone else would be safe.

We fought, and I landed a good blow that gave me an advantage and I took it. I ripped his face off. It didn’t kill him, so I grabbed his throat, intending to rip it out, but he flew away. He went back to Willow Lake to heal himself, and I followed.

I attacked him as he tried to heal himself, making it hard for him. The little bit of blood I consumed wasn’t enough and I started to lose control. I was terrified of going into a frenzy because I didn’t know if I would stop after killing Flynn. I didn’t want to hurt anyone else.

Gaia told me it would be okay, and I trusted her. When I gave in, I got stronger. I was drunk on power, and Flynn was actually scared. I had him right where I wanted him, and when I went in for the kill, my sword stabbed Devyn, and I felt the mate bond break.

Dear Amelia, I know it seems like I forgot about all the mess I was in, but I didn’t. After meeting Mali, I went to my office to work on finishing the book about fae. Gaia taught me how to read her language, and we spent the whole day trying to organize the book. Although…

Dear Diary, The pas few weeks have been boring. I sent most of my time training with Jordan and Stella and spent time with my parents. Dad taught me to drive, and Mom took me to get my license. But I wanted to do more. Everyone had something to do but me. Jordan was still…

Dear Amelia, This isn’t the beginning of our story, but it is the start. As I’ve said before, Devyn was the only person who didn’t bully me growing up. He was my first friend- though our friendship kind of ended by the time we were old enough to start school. Anyway, while I was wallowing…

Dear Diary, Today is my 18th birthday. I made the mistake of having hope. And thinking that my wish would come true. I should have known better than to have such unrealistic dreams. I didn’t find a mate. I guess that was better than having one and then feeling the pain of getting rejected. Still,…

Dear Amelia, After the meeting ended, Devyn and Jordan made up. It was nice watching it in real life. You know how those two can be. They’re only soft with their girls. Before they left me to translate the book, Stella showed up. She said she found the fae working with Colton. Finally, we had…

Dear Amelia, Don’t judge me on my last letter. Remember how much you cried on your 50th? You were acting like a brat because Tristan forgot your cake. You were twice the age I was at the time, and you still got your cake. Well, at least now you know where you get your little…
