Dear Amelia,

Your dad came close to death too many times because of me. I still carry that guilt with me to this day. So many people almost died because of me. And that’s something I can never get over. James, Devyn, Jordan, my parents, Tristan. Anyone close to me. Anyone precious to me. Because of me, Stella could lose her mate, and Grace could lose her father. Black Forest could lose their alpha. Tristan could lose everything. That was my reality- is my reality.

One of the hybrids appeared and took Devyn to the infirmary. And before I could find Flynn, he stabbed me. His sword went through my back and out through my abdomen. It was a blue sword, from his realm, and I couldn’t heal from it. Gaia couldn’t heal me. I fell to the ground, and all I could think about was how I just killed Jordan and Devyn by dying. Any chance Devyn had at surviving was gone. How could he survive that stab wound and the mate bond breaking? He couldn’t.

Flynn stabbed me again.

I spotted my sword on the ground as my life started slipping away. Flynn taunted me. Said horrible things that I will not repeat. And as he was too busy telling me how he won, I used every ounce of strength left and used telekinesis to stab my sword through his heart. I thought I would die there, Amelia, and I was determined to take him out with me.

My ability to heal was gone. I couldn’t heal any of the wounds inflicted by his blade, and I lost so much blood. I used all my energy to say my last goodbye to my parents, Jordan and Devyn. Tristan too. I held on just long enough to watch Flynn die before everything went black.

Amelia, clearly I’m not dead. Here’s the thing, I ended up in a coma where I saw Macey again. Of course, it made sense that when I went into a frenzy, she was the one in charge of my body. She was helping me, like she always had. But we ended up arguing. And she was right, and I was wrong.

Let me explain something, when I blacked out, I thought that for sure I was dead. I didn’t think I woke up in my subconscious, locked in the room Macey resided in. I thought I was in the afterlife. And if I was in the afterlife, then I could see James and Onyx. The thought made me happy.

But I wasn’t dead yet. I was clinging to life by a thread. I could open my eyes and wake up, or I could let go and die. And I thought dying was better because I would have James and Onyx. But Macey said that nothing was guaranteed.

Macey told me that if I died, then James’s death would have been in vain. She was more than right when she called me selfish. She told me how my death would affect the world. She told me about everything I would miss out on.

Things like watching Tristan grow up. Bonding with Malachi. Marrying Devyn. There was so much to live for. I knew that. And the last thing I wanted was for Tristan to become an orphan and Grace to lose her father. Plus, Macey wasn’t ready to die yet. So I decided I would fight my way out of the coma I was in. The only problem was figuring out how to do that.

There was still fae magic in me. I knew that because there was something blocking me from leaving the room I was in. That was until Tristan appeared. The block was gone, and that warm feeling that energized me every time consumed me. Tristan hugged me, overwhelmed me. And when my eyes opened, he was in the bed with me. There was a green glow that surrounded us. It blended with his blue glow, but the stronger I got, the greener it became.

And then I heard Jordan talking, and I realized that Tristan and Grace were the ones who saved us. Devyn, however, was still unconscious. Jordan woke up because I woke up. He didn’t have any major injuries, and his condition was directly tied to me.

Devyn was different. He didn’t have the bond that me and Jordan shared. And he was seriously injured. I stabbed him in the chest, Amelia, and our mate bond was hanging by a thread because of it. He was in bad shape. And guilt devoured me. But Tristan was confident that he could heal him, so I told him it was okay for him to try.

Tristan grabbed Devyn’s hand and began healing him. Your brother didn’t just heal Devyn’s wounds, but also our bond. I felt the bond getting stronger and stronger until it was whole again. And when your brother depleted his energy, I had him feed off me, before he finished healing Devyn. He fell asleep as soon as he was done.

He didn’t get to see Devyn wake up.

Dear Diary, My dad invited his whole family to my graduation, and no one showed. I can’t say I’m surprised, though. I tried to tell him that it was pointless inviting them, since they hate me, but he refused to believe me. Even when no one showed. My second graduation was just the same. The…

Dear Amelia, It took me a while to write this, because this is where things become hard. So much happened so fast and I just don’t know how to slow it down. I won’t give you all the details. You are old enough to fill in the blanks of what I left out. Truthfully, though,…
