Dear Amelia,

Before I tell you about the trip to Mexico, I need to tell you about what happened before we left. And again, I know you only want to know about me and Devyn, but I can’t tell you our story without telling you everything else.

After everything happened with Tristan and Grace, Devyn avoided me for a while. He didn’t know I talked to Tristan or what about. Plus, I was also busy preparing, so although I didn’t see or talk to him, I wasn’t mad. I knew he wasn’t doing it on purpose. Or at least, I hoped.

When he finally reached out to me, I was in a meeting going over information about the man who attacked Tristan. I wanted to be mad at him for avaoiding me, but I couldn’t. He came with information.

Devyn’s female beta, a hybrid named Sadie, found out who the witch was that was helping the attacker. And she gave us the name of the man who attacked- Ryan.

After the meeting ended, I asked Devyn to join us on our little family vacation, and of course, he agreed. We went back to Black Forest together and when we did, we met with Devyn’s parents. Amelia, you know from pervious letters that they disappeared after the war without a trace. Well, after eight years, they showed up again with information. They gave us the name of the witch who was helping Ryan.

The witch, Katrina, was the same witch that betrayed us during the war. And she was also the reason Devyn was born. Katrina wasn’t only helping the wolf who attacked your brother, she was helping another wolf. Maybe more. And according to Devyn’s parents, their scents were familiar. They never saw who the others were, but they smelled them on Katina.

We didn’t have time to do anything with the information at that time since we had to leave. But we passed it along to our team to investigate while we were gone. Although Devyn was angry at his parents for abandoning him for eight years, we were able to get a lot of information from them. Including the locations they, and Ryan, were hiding at.

We went to Mexico as a family. All of us. Jordan, Stella, Grace, Tristan, Devyn and me. And we all shared a room. Well, it wasn’t just a room. It was a two story, three bedroom, penthouse suite. It was awesome.

I know you think that the vacation and summit are irrelevant, but I promise you, it’s not. A lot happened during that trip, and a lot of things were set into motion. And yes, I intend on keeping my promise of leaving out the irrelevant details, although I know at times it doesn’t feel like it.

We left for Mexico the day after meeting with Devyn’s parents. When we got to the jet, Devyn made a connection. He suspected that Jason and Erica, his best friends who were supposed to be his beta and gamma, were the wolves his parents mentioned. Jason was Casey’s brother. He obviously knew that Devyn rejected Casey for me. And he also knew she was dead. It only made sense that he wanted revenge. He never liked me to begin with.

We passed along the information to our team and continued on as if nothing happened. I know you must think that’s crazy, but the reason was because we didn’t want anyone knowing what we knew. We didn’t want to risk the information leaking.

Now, Mexico. I learned a lot about your dad on this trip. As long as we’ve known each other, and with how close we were now, you’d be surprised how much I didn’t know. I was. But then again, I didn’t know everything about him growing up. We were never close and only talked when we were alone. Well, maybe that’s a lie. We were close until we were about six.

I learned that he doesn’t like coffee. He really only drinks water, if you haven’t notice. Coffee is too sweet and bad for you, according to him. I also learned he did a different type of workout than what we learned in school. I guess I did too after leaving Black Forest.

Anyway, we had a lot of fun, Amelia. We learned a lot about each other, flirted, and maybe got a little jealous when someone was flirting with one of us. But we weren’t in Mexico for just a vacation. We were there for work. The alpha summit lasted about a week. And it was anything but fun.
