Dear Cassie,
If you’re reading this, you have found one of the letters I left for you. I knew you would. You are such an intelligent and clever girl. You could do anything you set your mind to.
I wrote this because I wanted to remind you of what a blessing you are. Many people don’t appreciate the blessings they have in life, but I did. You were a blessing in my life. I recognized it the moment I met you. Maybe it was because I saw a little bit of myself in you. Or maybe it was because you reminded me of my wife.
You were never afraid to get your hands dirty and do the hard work. That’s very admirable of you, especially since most adults don’t do it. I believe God put you in my life for a reason. When my wife died, I had nothing else to live for, so I threw myself into the farm. But when I met you, everything changed.
You brought out a side of me that I thought died a long time ago, and I want to say thank you. God blesses each of his children. What we do with that blessing is up to us. Your parents were blessed with three beautiful kids, but they don’t cherish them like they should have.
As much as I wanted to be a father, God made me a grandfather, to you and your siblings. And like every good grandparent, I tried to give you what your parents couldn’t. Unfortunately, my time with you was limited and I can no longer do that.
If there is one thing I do know about God, it’s that he loves all his children and he will always be there for you. You are not just a blessing to me; you are a blessing to the world. And you will be blessed yourself.
Whether that’s falling in love, becoming a mother, or having the freedom to do whatever you want in life without restrictions. You will be blessed. I hope you get to see the world and fall in love. I pray that you find happiness and smile a lot. Follow your heart and listen to the signs God sends to you.
You are beautiful, and one day, some lucky man will come along and see what a blessing you are. He will stand by you, despite your faults. He will give you a shoulder to cry on, love you without reason and support you in life. He will respect you and honor you. And he will provide for you in ways you didn’t know you needed. This is the man God will send you. Recognize and accept his blessing.
As always, with love,
Al.
PS: I know your parents will ruin the farm. I also know you will revive it. I’ve left an account specifically for renovations. Use it. Don’t spend your own money. Joe has the details but will only give them to you if you ask.
