Dear Amelia,

After the meeting ended, Devyn and Jordan made up. It was nice watching it in real life. You know how those two can be. They’re only soft with their girls.

Before they left me to translate the book, Stella showed up. She said she found the fae working with Colton. Finally, we had confirmation, although I was really hoping it was a wizard or warlock I was up against. Fae magic could actually kill me, and that was scary. I didn’t want to die before I got to see Tristan grow up, or live a life with Devyn. I couldn’t.

Here is what Stella found out: the fae came to this realm with the goal of conquering it. There was a war in their home realm, and the fae in our world was tasked with finding a solution. His solution was to take over our realm. Stella also got a photo of the fae. He looked exactly like James.

Gaia flipped through the book and found a passage on time. From what she found out, there was no way James was reincarnated as an evil fairy. But he looked so much like him. No, they were completely identical. I was left alone to study more. Gaia and I read more of the book and one thing became clear, Gaia the goddess and Hecate knew something. And we needed to figure out what.

Devyn and Tristan decided I needed a break from all the studying I was doing, so we went out for dinner as a family. I thought it was going to be a place within the tribe, but Devyn took us outside of the tribe. As you know, Amelia, the drive to any city outside the tribe takes hours, which is why we have portals. Devyn used one to get us to Milan.

You know what’s funny? At that particular time, I had lived in Italy for almost a decade and the only place outside of the tribe that I’ve been to, was Rome. And that was only to visit Grandpa. I didn’t even explore the city. I bet you don’t believe me because I’m always going somewhere now, huh? But honestly, back then, I didn’t have time the way I do now.

Anyway, that dinner is how I met Giovanni. He and Devyn were friends in college. Side note, not relevant at all, but I just thought about it. Did you know that your dad started his company while in high school? Maybe he told you already. If not, I want you to know how cool Devyn is.

A day later, I met my brother. My mom finally brought Malachi home. But at the time, he didn’t have a name. And I know you and everyone else knows this, but he was adopted. My parents brought him home only days after he was born. His birth mother was a general who died during childbirth. No one knew who the father was. Even to this day, we don’t know.

Malachi doesn’t care who his birth parents are, though. And honestly, neither do I. In his eyes, our parents are his real parents, and honestly, that makes us all happy. He is my real brother. And to our parents, he is their real son. They raised him just like they raised me. And I knew he’d grow up well because he showed me.

Dear Amelia, Before I tell you about the trip to Mexico, I need to tell you about what happened before we left. And again, I know you only want to know about me and Devyn, but I can’t tell you our story without telling you everything else. After everything happened with Tristan and Grace, Devyn…

Dear Amelia, I know you want to know what happened, and I swore I would tell you one day. The thing is, I didn’t expect you to find my diary, or even read it. There are things in there that I haven’t even told your brother. And I know you’re most curious about your father…

Dear Amelia, This might be the hardest part to recount because I don’t remember it happening. Devyn, Jordan and everyone there told me what happened. So please take this with a grain of salt as I explain what happened to the best of my understanding. I blacked out. The anger, the rage, the fury and…

Dear Diary, In less than an hour, I’ll be going into isolation. I could bring you, but I figure it’s best that I don’t. Mom brought us to a forest somewhere in Italy. I wonder if she’ll meet up with grandpa while I’m away. Afterall, this is her home, and I know he’s still here…

Dear Amelia, Gaia and I went on our run and ended up under the weeping willow. The same willow I used to visit as my safe place when I first learned how to jump. It was the spot that I felt the most comfortable. We didn’t build out there, because that spot was sacred to…

Dear Diary, it’s been a couple of months, but tomorrow is my birthday, so we took a half day of training. Where do I start? Everyone had been trying so hard to earn my trust back, and I appreciate it. I see their effort and fully forgave them all. I just didn’t say it out…
