Dear Amelia,

I want to say this now, before you get confused later. I am starting from this point because you found my diary and a lot is missing from it. Actually, there are more diaries somewhere in the world that fill in the blanks. But, for my and your sake, I hope they are never found. For now, I choose to pick up where the the diary you did find ended. Simply put, this way will be easier to understand, because it’s in order of how I first experienced life.

Darius was no ordinary wolf, so I knew that the wolfsbane and silver would not kill him. And with both Jordan and James knocked out, my plan had to change. Especially since Markus was arriving. I called the healer that was with us and tasked her with making sure they woke up and could still fight. And then I left to enchant the vampire scouts just like I did with the wolves.

Grandpa didn’t hide himself. One of the generals appeared. Grandpa told him something and then the rest of the generals and Markus appeared.

In order for this to make sense, Amelia, you have to understand that Markus and Grandpa were best friends… Sort of. Markus didn’t trust anyone, but he trusted Grandpa. Though I can’t say he trusted him with a hundred percent certainty, given the way he looked at him. Afterall, Grandpa was lying to him for quite some time.

Either way, he followed Grandpa into the conference room where we had Darius tied up with silver handcuffs. It was Grandpa’s “gift” to Markus. I, of course, was watching everything from the shadows as I waited. Markus sent everyone away. the six generals he came with and the other vampires that were around.

Once everyone was gone, he asked Grandpa about my mom. More specifically, his granddaughter.

I panicked, of course, but grandpa didn’t. Looking back now, I shouldn’t have been so shocked. We did spread the rumors that I was his great granddaughter.

Grandpa told Markus a story I had not heard before, but it made everything make sense for me. When he told him my mom was storming the palace, I linked Jordan and James, who were now awake, to attack the vampires in the hall.

At the same time, my mom linked me- we had that magic device she gave me when I went to college that made that possible- and told me that they won. I instructed her to bring the strongest here with her and then to send everyone else to help the wolves.

In case it wasn’t clear, I sent the wolves who sided with us to Darius’s palace and the vampires to Markus’s. The hybrids came with me.

Anyway, Markus didn’t believe Grandpa, and apparently couldn’t use compulsion on him to get the truth. But after saying that, he turned to where I was hiding, as if he saw me there, and then called me out. As soon as I stepped out, I told him who I was. I could hear the fighting outside the room we were in, and I knew he could hear it too.

Well, chaos ensued everywhere. Markus attacked me. Demitri- one of the generals- came back in and attacked Grandpa. The whole time I felt weak. I used everything I had. All the elements, enchantment, persuasion, nothing worked. And I couldn’t shift. All I could do was pray Vasilia would show up on time and save me.

James linked me, he and Jordan won their battles with the generals, but were taken out of the underground palace. I sent my mom to James, and somehow managed to get to the pin that summoned Jordan to wherever I was. Honestly, it was a gift that came in handy. Jordan gave it to me after my isolation.

Grandpa killed Demitri, but he couldn’t help me because Darius woke up. And he was pissed. The timing couldn’t have been worse.

Amelia, it may take a while before I send the next letter. If I’m being honest, the next part is hard to relive. And frankly, I don’t want to. Give me some time.

Dear Amelia, I don’t want you to think of me as some cruel, heartless being. I made the best choices I possibly could within the time given. Ideally, things wouldn’t have played out the way they did if I could help it. But in order for us to win the war, I had to do…

Dear Diary, I didn’t talk to James, but I talked to Onyx. He assured me that they wouldn’t reject me. I forgive Onyx, not James. There’s a lot that I haven’t internalized yet, but I’ll take my time. Jordan told me about his witch friend – the High Priestess named Stella – who blessed him…

Dear Diary, In less than an hour, I’ll be going into isolation. I could bring you, but I figure it’s best that I don’t. Mom brought us to a forest somewhere in Italy. I wonder if she’ll meet up with grandpa while I’m away. Afterall, this is her home, and I know he’s still here…

Dear Diary, Dark days are ahead. And we have to plan for them. Gaia forced James’s mom to admit her wrong doings. We found out that she had help from not only Devyn’s ex mate, but also from the warlock I met in James’s office. I left Kevin in charge of her punishment. Clan Leader…

Dear Diary, College was great at first. Emphasis on ‘was’. At first, I was enjoying being free and and meeting new people who didn’t judge me the second they met me. But then I had to start wearing brown contacts because people were too fascinated with my eyes, and the attention became annoying. I felt…

Dear Amelia, It took me a while to write this, because this is where things become hard. So much happened so fast and I just don’t know how to slow it down. I won’t give you all the details. You are old enough to fill in the blanks of what I left out. Truthfully, though,…
